Local Attorney Amber J. Handy Selected as Award Recipient

Amber J. Handy HeadshotEarlier this month, the State Bar of Nevada announced the recipients of the 2019 Membership Awards. Among those selected was our very own, Amber J. Handy!

Attorney Amber Handy was selected for the 2019 Young Lawyer of the Year Award, which recognizes the professional and public service achievements of Nevada attorneys either under the age of 36 or those engaged in the practice of law for fewer than five years.

Handy earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2013 and joined the State Bar of Nevada the same year. Since then, she has become an active and dedicated member, serving on the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section (YLS), and is the current editor of the YLS news.

In addition to her volunteerism with the State Bar, Handy is also well-known in Northern Nevada for her work as a dedicated advocate and provider of pro bono services. Through her efforts with two legal aid providers – Nevada Legal Services (NLS) and Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevadans (VARN) – Handy helps provide legal advice to disadvantaged Nevadans. She further serves her community through her work with the Lawyer in the Library and Serving Seniors programs.

As a resident of Carson City, Handy practices with the local firm, Handelin Law. She specializes in a wide range of legal areas, so whether you’ve been waiting for the right time to establish your estate plan or simply need legal advice you can trust, schedule a consultation with Amber Handy, the 2019 Young Lawyer of the Year Recipient.
